2011 International CES is New Venue

for Andrew Seybold’s Wireless Dinner

Santa Barbara, California, June 29, 2010 — Andrew Seybold, Inc., the consulting and information services organization that has hosted Andrew Seybold’s Wireless Dinner annually for 20 years, announced today that the 21st Wireless Dinner will be held in conjunction with the 2011 International CES® in Las Vegas on Thursday, January 6.

“The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), sponsor of the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, has graciously agreed that our Wireless Dinner be one of the premier events to be held in conjunction with CES’s wireless pavilion,” Seybold said. “The impact of wireless communications throughout society and throughout the world continues to increase, with the consumer sector now emerging as the dominant market. The 2011 CES is the most appropriate venue for us at this time.”

The Wireless Dinner originated with the Comdex show and later migrated to the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) show. Selection of the new venue reflects the growing importance of wireless services for wireless-centric companies, but it also recognizes the impact of new and emerging consumer and business related devices and services in the broader wireless market, Seybold said.

“The 2011 International CES is the perfect event for Andrew Seybold’s long-running Wireless Dinner,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. “As wireless capabilities are now so seamlessly integrated across so many CE product categories, and are a vital part of our tradeshow, the International CES is where the wireless industry meets to network and experience the latest trends and technologies. This dinner provides crucial opportunities for wireless executives to interact with their peers and with executives from other technology and content segments.”

When the dinner originated twenty years ago, there was little thought that it would grow into the longest running social event for wireless industry executives, Seybold said.
